Partnering with Pastors: Heart of God India

Indian pastors who have joined Heart of God India’s growing network of Christian workers are reaching thousands of people in areas heavily influenced by the Hindu culture and religion by sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ in a way that only nationals can. These men live to give, literally! They will walk, ride a bike, wade through rivers, climb mountains, and risk their lives to minister to the people in tribal villages day after day; many of them work tirelessly without any monetary support from their small congregations.

Most of the pastors working in the tribal villages surrounding our “home base” are beyond indigent … their needs are extreme yet they continue to give of themselves expecting nothing in return. Sadly, they often lack the ability to provide for their own families while fulfilling their calling to minister in their villages. The call they feel is so strong that they continually step out in faith believing God for provision while they continue to offer their time and efforts asking nothing in return. They live with eternity in mind, denying their temporal needs so they might win the prize of eternal blessing.

[pullquote4 align="right" variation="deepblue"]Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up. Again, if two lie together, then they have heat: but how can one be warm alone? And if one prevail against him, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken. (Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 KJV)[/pullquote4]Working together is a great opportunity for sponsors to undergird the work being done in India day in and day out. As effective as they have been, having someone like you partner with them will not only increase their reward, but they will share the fruitfulness of ministry with you. As you labor together, they will never feel alone or forgotten. They will know there is a partner in prayer sharing the burden for the lost. The advantages both the pastor and the sponsor will realize are immeasurable. The two together — pastor and sponsor — will be a strong force against the anti-Christ spirit at work throughout India. Add the power of the Holy Spirit at work when two believers are bound together in purpose, the “threefold cord” will not quickly be broken.

Edification, empowerment, mentoring, and discipleship are key words in how Heart of God India views the Body of Christ and her purpose. Our purpose is to seek the lost and make Disciples and edify the Believers. Because of this call, Heart of God India is focused on church planting, training and equipping pastors, providing Bible study and mentoring for children. Outreach is a big part of our heart and we provide opportunities for the pastors to work alone and with one another. Also provided are events and outreach for the youth and children, as they can be powerful witnesses for Christ as well.
